The Summers in the Northland tend to be humid which can make for an uncomfortable living and sleeping environment. It can also cause a host of conditions in the home such as swelling of construction materials, condensation, mold and other issues. The Daikin ductless mini-split systems have an invertor compressor which allows the unit to cycle on and off on the “Dry” mode that will not only remove the humidity in the home or garage but will allow the temp to remain. Daikin also has a Low Temp ductless mini-split system that can provide heating capabilities down into the -10F range that has become a popular option for customers looking for operating savings along with the peace of mind of having a back-up system in case their primary source fails. This low temp option would also be a great option for those who like to burn wood but would like a back-up when away from home.

These systems are popular with people that do not care for the loud noise of the traditional A/C condenser and the air noise of the air coming through ductwork registers.

 

Ductless mini-splits do not need the traditional duct systems that are costly and may require expensive modifications to install. The maintenance needed with ductless mini-splits is minimal, indoor filter checks with annual maintenance check on the rest of system. There are air purification and allergen filter options available on most ductless mini-split systems that are effective at helping control allergens.
